Graduate Students

Fady Ibrahim

Picture
Fady is a Master's student at the New School for Social Research. He received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey. In the past Fady has worked in various labs which explored the role of language in psychotherapy, social facilitation, and romantic relationships respectively. He is currently interested in researching different aspects of the psychoanalytic process such as therapeutic alliance and therapist interpretations, and how these elements can vary between therapists, clients, and symptoms.

Evan Henritze

Picture
Evan is interested in how contemplative ethical practice informs the clinical relationship in the psychotherapeutic and other caregiver contexts. He is currently a member of the CAMs coding group and is also conducting a study on compassion appraisal and ethical sensitivity. He serves as Director of Programming at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and is a masters student at the New School. He earned a B.A. in Film Studies and Social, Cultural and Critical Theory from Wesleyan University.

Trevor Friedman

Picture
Trevor is a second-year M.A. student and the leader of the Nonverbal Coding Group, which researches nonverbal synchrony between a therapist and patient, particularly as it influences therapeutic alliance and ruptures. He is also a member of the GABI coding group in the Attachment Lab, in which he codes for nonverbal behaviors of clinicians working with parent-child dyads. In addition, Trevor works at a sensorimotor psychotherapy practice, and was previously the office manager at a neuropsychology evaluation center.

Zeynep Guney

Picture
Zeynep is a Psychology MA student at the New School and a member of the Facilitative Interpersonal Skills (FIS) task group. She received her BA in Psychology and Sociology and MA in Clinical Psychology from Istanbul Bilgi University. Previously, she studied on torture and trauma and worked with mass trauma survivors. She is interested in the practice and theory of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and therapist factors affecting therapeutic alliance and outcome.

Kevin Rice

Picture
I am a Psychology MA student at the New School and a member of the CAMS coding team at the Brief. I received my BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Simpson College, and an MA in philosophy form University of Missouri St. Louis. I am interested in the phenomenology of intersubjectivity and empathy in the therapeutic alliance, psychotherapeutic integration, and the metrics of therapeutic efficacy/effectiveness.

Jamie Gardella

Picture
Jamie is a Psychology MA student at The New School and a member of the CAMS coding group. She earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. Her volunteer experience as a peer counselor to the LGBTQIA community of NYC at Identity House led her to stray from the business world to clinical psychology. Her research interests include exploring therapists’ roles in ruptures and repairs (especially with clients who are members of underserved communities), measuring therapeutic effectiveness as client factors vary, and implicit bias.
